Dale LeRoy Boyer (Reverend Dale LeRoy Boyer) 72, of Titusville, Florida, died March 18, 2019 in an Orlando hospital. Dale LeRoy Boyer was born at home on October 15, 1946 in Morris County near Council Grove, Kansas to Oliver and Mildred (Kraus) Boyer. He worked alongside his father on the family farm and attended Council Grove High School. He attended Manhattan Christian College and Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas, where he studied Theology. As a lifelong learner, he studied astronomy, graphic design, engineering, multicultural studies and more at University of Central Florida and Brevard Community College. In the Spring of 2012 he was Ordained an Interfaith /Interspiritual Minister from One Spirit Learning Alliance in New York, NY. He studied yoga and meditation at The Center for Spiritual Awareness in Lakemont, Georgia, continuing to attend retreats and conferences in interest areas. Dale took up skydiving in Herrington, Kansas, in 1972. He managed Sky Sports Skydiving from 1977 to 1984, growing it with the help of a great team into a very successful skydiving center near Hutchinson, Kansas. He had over 3000 jumps and trained hundreds of students. Dale contracted with Boeing, Cessna, Learjet and other companies in Wichita, Kansas to work on both aircraft and personnel parachute systems. . His knowledge and expertise led to his work at the Kennedy Space Center Parachute Refurbishment Facility, first as a technician, then an Operations Engineer, from 1984 until he retired in 2009. While working there, the PRF became his work family. His neighborhood, Tai Chi, Aikido, skydiving, Yoga, and faith family kept his life busy and full. He will be missed by them. Dale was also a musician and songwriter, working in Memphis, Tennessee, as well as touring with a show band, The Reasons Why, in the Midwest and Nevada. He married Deborah Boyer in 1976 and later formed a trio with his wife and son, playing in central and western Kansas. Dale has many spiritual and music friends in California and for 14+ years he traveled there often to see his friend Denise Fernald, making good friends and good music along the way. Throughout his life he continued to write music and sing; he was planning to travel more and share his music. An easy-going guy with a quick smile who believed “once a friend, always a friend”, Dale had many friends with whom he always made an extra effort to keep in touch. His nieces and nephews referred to him as being “cool Uncle Dale.” He doted on his great-grandchildren and they adored their “Bampaw”. Dale is survived by his step-mother, Delma Boyer, sisters Carole Downes and husband Bill of Council Grove, and Janice Purcell of Texarkana, Texas; his dear friend Deborah Boyer of Rockledge, Florida; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Ann Cagasan; two grandchildren: Roy Edward Boyer of Merritt Island, Florida, and Jazmin Chantel Ann Boyer of Pukalani, Hawaii. He has six great-grandchildren and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends from coast to coast. Dale had adopted Deborah’s son, Roy Shannon Boyer who passed away in 1998. Dale passed away surrounded by love on March 18, 2019 in Orlando, Florida. There will be celebrations of his life in Florida, Kansas. and California. Dates will be announced soon. Rev. Mark Pasqualino will conduct the service. We will gather at parking lot NUMBER 8. Afterwards, all friends and family will gather for food and drink at Sand Point Park Pavilions 7 and 8. Admission to the beach is $15.00 per car, so anyone who would like to carpool to the beach, please meet at 3:30 pm at the parking lot in front of Pavilion 7. We do have some senior passes.
