Mr. Donald Horr Sr.
March 6, 1930 - March 13, 2017
In Loving Memory of Donald Horr, Sr. March 6, 1930 - March 13, 2017 Donald Horr, Sr. passed away peacefully on March 13, 2017 in Viera, Florida, with family at his side. He was born in Falmouth, Maine and moved to Cocoa, Florida in 1955 where he fell in love with his bride, Sheila. They were married for sixty-one years. Donald served honorably in the U.S. Navy, during the Korean War aboard the USS Orion, as a Diesel Engineman Third Class. He was a carpenter by trade and worked as a foreman with Chicago Bridge and Iron (CBI) during the construction of the Vertical Assembly Building at Kennedy Space Center in the 1960’s. He later went on to work for Pan American World Airways, then Johnson Controls at Cape Canaveral Air Station and retired in 1999. He spent his retirement years doing what he treasured most, traveling and spending time with his beloved family. Donald became a devoted follower of Christ in 1963. He faithfully served the Christ he loved and served in many capacities, as well as a Deacon at Clearlake Baptist for over 40 years. His wife and family loved him dearly and will deeply feel the loss of his earthly presence. We look forward to our reunion in Heaven, made possible by the same Christ which he led his family to believe in by his life’s example. Donald is survived by his wife Sheila Horr and three sons Donald Harr, Jr., Michael Harr (Jani), and Timothy Horr (Paige), five grandchildren Jami Hornsby (Trey), Carrie Khodanian (Gary), Maggie Harr, Heath Horr, and Aaron Horr, and one great-grandchild, Lana Hornsby.
