Let the memory of Cassandra be with us forever. This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Cassandra. Cassandra Elizabeth Repanshek, known affectionately as "Sandy," was born on August 3, 1927, in Long Island, Bahamas, to Clotilda and Harvey Carroll. As the eldest of nine, Sandy's journey through life was marked by unwavering strength, love, and a profound commitment to her family. From her early years, Sandy embraced hard work and instilled the importance of family values. Her stern demeanor was softened by a love that knew no bounds, creating an indomitable force that will be missed beyond words. Sandy's resilience shone through as she waited tables, demonstrating an unyielding determination to support her family. Amidst struggles, she encountered unexpected joys, even crossing paths with the iconic Beatles during their visit to the Bahamas. Despite hardships, Sandy's kind and welcoming nature never faltered. She met the love of her life, John Repanshek, whom she married in 1953. Together, they embarked on a sixty-year journey that took them from the Bahamas to Annapolis, MD, Key West, Antigua, BWI, and finally to Brevard County, raising a beautiful family of ten children along the way. She poured her love into her grand and great-grandchildren until the very end of her days. As empty nesters, she and John ventured into a new chapter by opening Sandy's Barbeque. For many years, they served their beloved community, sharing delicious meals and the warmth of their hearts. In her 96 years, Sandy's legacy expanded beyond her immediate family. Sandy's home was a haven for all. Her generosity knew no bounds, and her welcoming spirit embraced everyone who entered her door. After John's passing in 2013, Sandy continued to be a pillar of her family, offering sage advice and unwavering support in every situation. On January 18, 2024, Cassandra Elizabeth Repanshek was called home to God at her home, surrounded by her family, who loved and adored her. Sandy's legacy lives on in the hearts of those she touched, and her memory will forever radiate warmth and love. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; daughter, Mary Anne; and sons, Wendel and Anthony, along with her parents, brother, and sisters, all of whom she loved so much. She is survived by her cherished children, grandchildren, their spouses, and great-grandchildren. They include her two sons, Stephen Repanshek (Dale) and John Repanshek (Melissa); five daughters, Antoinette Bigler (John), Janet Klemme (Charlie), Anne O'Connell (Dan), Andrea Wilkinson (Robert Sr.), and baby girl, Donna Lynne (Mark) who cared for her in her home until the very end; her fifteen grandchildren Jamie Bitzkowski (Rob), John Bigler, Jr. (Dena), Roger Dean (Amy Gregory), Christina Lockwood, Robyn Breaux,Benna Lynne, Tory Lynne Gray (Colin), Jessica Bigler, Robert Wilkinson, Jr. (Nikki), Jake Wilkinson (Katie), Cassandra Waterman (Adam), John Carl Repanshek, Olivia Gearhart (James), Eva Knowles (Marco), and Nadia Knowles; her sixteen great-grandchildren, Teva Karnes, Ezekiel Moody, Liandra Dean, Lilah & Alexandra Bigler, Gavin, Jordan, & Christopher Lockwood, Malachi Ventor-Lewis, Lialani Lopez, Adeley Gray, Savannah, Lauren, and Hailey Wilkinson, Toby Knowles, and Sebastian Knowles-Lamb. As mentioned, Sandy was the eldest of nine children. She also leaves behind three siblings. They include her adored brother, Lester Carroll (Dee), her sisters, Christine Lowe and Mavis Treco, and a host of many other loved ones and friends. The viewing will take place on Saturday, January 27th, from 9-10 am, with funeral services from 10-11:30 am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Community, 5655 Stadium Parkway, Viera, FL, and the repast will be held at the Cocoa-Rockledge Garden Club from 12-2 pm.
