Mr. Gerald V. King

Gerald V. King Jr., affectionately known as Jerry, passed away on August 17, 2025, at the age of 78 in Titusville, FL. Born on September 17, 1946, in Calhoun, GA. He was a devoted husband to Sara, with whom he shared a loving marriage of 37 years, and a caring father. Jerry proudly served in the Air Force from 1963 to 1986, achieving the esteemed rank of Master Sargeant. His military career took him to various parts of the world, including being stationed in Iceland, Alaska, Germany, and lastly Florida. His commitment to his country was unwavering, and he inspired those around him with his integrity and leadership. Jerry’s military journey was not just about service; it shaped him into a dedicated family man who instilled discipline and pride in his loved ones. He spent 20 years working as a Quality Control Manager for Lockheed Martin. He then spent 15 years as an Electronics Associate for Wal-Mart. Despite his many responsibilities, he always made time for his family and his passions, demonstrating a hard-working and dedicated spirit. Though he preferred not to be the center of attention, Jerry deserves to have his long years of fatherly love honored. He was a man of integrity, kindness, & generosity, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. Jerry's hobbies and interests helped define who he was. He enjoyed reading, bike riding, running, shooting, & spending time with his wife; often spending his weekends at the gun range. His love for reading & shooting was something he shared with his children & grandchildren, leaving a mark on them that will never fade. He is preceded in death by his parents Gerald V. King Sr & Gladys King, and his sister Gloria Phillps. Jerry is survived by his adoring wife, Sara, his children Derrick Armstrong (Ann) of Reedville, VA, Brian King (Jenn Ann) of Charleston, SC, Terri Griffith (Dale) of Titusville, FL, Jack Magee (Maureen) of Rockledge, FL, Denise Steele (John) of Zephyrhills, FL and his sister Gwen Lyall (Lynne) of Bluffton, SC, 16 grandchildren, & 16 great grandchildren, as well as many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly. A memorial service will be held at The American Legion Post 1 located at 1281 U.S. Rte. 1 Titusville, FL 32796 on October 11th at 1:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Francis Hospice.
